Repairing Friendships
How to come back after distance, disappointment or harm.
Repair asks for accurate ownership, honest impact, proportionate trust, and evidence that the relationship can change.
The work beneath
Repairing Friendships.
Friendship repair is difficult because there is often no formal commitment holding two people in the room. Either person can simply drift, leaving hurt to harden into a story neither one has tested.
This course helps you assess whether repair is possible, speak honestly about impact, rebuild through changed behaviour and recognise when the most truthful repair is a respectful release.
Repair asks for accurate ownership, honest impact, proportionate trust, and evidence that the relationship can change.
5 Modules. Fifteen practical lessons.
The five modules move from understanding the pattern to practising a different way of living it. Each lesson includes reflection and a concrete next step.
Assess willingness, safety, history and the actual nature of the rupture before confusing nostalgia with repairability.
Tell the story without making yourself innocent, making them monstrous or using context to erase impact.
Build a conversation around acknowledgement, curiosity, apology and a specific understanding of what must be different.
Let trust return at the speed of evidence through small contact, consistent behaviour and room for uncertainty.
Recognise when the relationship cannot resume and choose an ending that leaves less distortion behind.

Is this course practical?
Yes. Each of the 15 lessons includes teaching, a reflection, points to notice and a practice. The exercises include describing what happened without blame, preparing a repair conversation and identifying changes that would make trust more credible.
Do I need to take it in order?
The five modules move from deciding whether repair is possible to accountability, conversation, rebuilding and release. You can follow that sequence and revisit lessons from the reader menu while you have access.
What is the format?
This is a fully written, self-paced course with 5 modules and 15 lessons. The reader includes reflection fields and progress controls. There are no live sessions or videos.
Can I take this course if my friend will not participate?
Yes. You can read and reflect on your own. The course explains mutual willingness and distinguishes your responsibility from the other person’s choices. It does not promise reconciliation or ask you to keep pursuing someone who has declined contact.
What if the friendship has become unsafe?
The course includes safety, boundaries and situations where renewed contact is not appropriate. You do not owe anyone a repair conversation that puts you at risk. If there are threats, harassment or abuse, seek appropriate support rather than relying on this course.
How long do I have to finish, and how does access work?
There is no set course-completion deadline. Under an All-Access membership, lessons remain available while your membership access is active, including any remaining paid-through period after cancellation. Access does not continue indefinitely after membership ends. If you enter using a course-specific access code, the scope of that grant applies.
Is this therapy or professional advice?
No. This is educational and reflective writing. It is not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice or crisis support, and it does not replace individual support from a qualified professional.
