Carrying Everything.

A written course for the person carrying the invisible load.

The mental load is not doing the dishes. It is holding the entire domain of what needs to be done, for everyone, all the time. This course addresses not just the logistics but what the imbalance is actually about — relationally, psychologically, and in terms of what you have been willing to carry.

The Premise

The work beneath
Carrying Everything.

This course is designed to help you slow the pattern down, understand what is happening underneath it, and begin practising a steadier, kinder way forward. It does not ask you to become someone else. It helps you return to yourself with more clarity, language, and choice.

The Course

5 Modules. Self-paced lessons

Each module is a place to understand one layer more clearly. Move slowly. Let the language meet the part of your life that has needed more care, more honesty, and a more hopeful way forward.

01
Module 1
What the Mental Load Actually Is

Not the tasks — the cognitive management of the tasks. The anticipating, the tracking, the remembering, the planning two steps ahead for a household of people who are not tracking anything. What it costs, neurologically and relationally.

02
Module 2
The Invisible Labour Architecture

How the current distribution came to be: the gradual assumptions, the defaults, the 'it's easier if I just do it' decisions that compounded over years into a structural imbalance. Understanding the architecture is the first step to changing it.

03
Module 3
The Resentment Is Information

The resentment that builds under the mental load is not a character flaw. It is a signal. This module addresses what it is pointing to, including the parts that go beyond the task distribution.

04
Module 4
What a Genuine Redistribution Requires

Not a conversation, a list, or a task manager. A genuine redistribution requires a change in who holds the responsibility for noticing, not just executing. This module maps what that actually looks like and how to get there.

05
Module 5
What You Are Willing to Carry

The final question is not about fairness. It is about what you are willing to carry, for whom, and why. A module on distinguishing between genuine care and the unconscious carrying of other people's responsibilities.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

Is this about getting my partner to do more housework? +

Not exactly. The distinction between doing tasks and holding cognitive ownership of domains is central. The goal is not task redistribution but genuine transfer of responsibility. The course directly addresses what a genuine redistribution looks like and what conversations it requires.

What if I'm a single parent or have no partner? +

The mental load applies in single-parent households and any situation where one person disproportionately holds everything together. The structural analysis applies regardless of relational context.

Is it normal to feel resentful toward someone I love? +

Yes. The course addresses this directly. The resentment of the mental load is not evidence of a damaged relationship. It is the predictable consequence of sustained inequity in a relationship you care about.

What is the format? +

Fully written, self-paced, membership access. No videos. 5 modules, 15 lessons, 10–15 minutes each. Journal textareas built in for each reflection.

Does this require my partner to do anything? +

No. The course is about your own understanding of the load and what changing it requires from you. The clarity is yours regardless of whether anything else changes.
