The Premise

The work beneath
The In-Law Guide.

In-law tension is rarely only about one difficult person. It is usually about two family systems meeting, each with its own rules about loyalty, access, authority and belonging. Ordinary decisions become emotionally loaded because they signal who matters and who gets to decide.

This course helps you understand that system without surrendering your home to it. You will learn how couples align privately, set clear boundaries, respond to criticism and passive aggression, protect children from loyalty conflicts, and build forms of contact that are respectful enough to last.

The Course

5 Modules. Fifteen practical lessons.

The five modules move from understanding the pattern to practising a different way of living it. Each lesson includes reflection and a concrete next step.

01
Module 1
The System You Entered

See the invisible family rules beneath conflict. Understand hierarchy, loyalty and why small events can carry the weight of belonging.

02
Module 2
The Couple as a Team

Learn how to align privately, protect one another publicly and avoid turning every tension into an unnecessary loyalty test.

03
Module 3
Boundaries That Hold

Create workable agreements around visits, advice, grandchildren and access, then support those agreements with proportionate consequences.

04
Module 4
Difficult Personalities

Respond to criticism, intrusion and passive aggression without becoming indirect, contemptuous or trapped in arguments about intent.

05
Module 5
A Sustainable Family Relationship

Build realistic rituals and expectations. Make room for dignity and connection without forcing intimacy that has not grown naturally.
